The Applied Biosystems Axiom Ovine Genotyping Array provides the power and resolution to enable a wide range of applications in sheep breeding, including breed assignment, parentage verification and discovery, and traceability and tracking of known large-effect polymorphisms. The 11,000 markers in the array facilitate high-accuracy imputation up to a higher-density panel (e.g., 50K panel). The Axiom Ovine Genotyping Array includes 88 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) proposed by the International Sheep Genomics Consortium (ISGC) for parentage verification.
