Introduction:
Varietal identification of wheat through DNA typing is a
fast, precise and necessary tool to identify the variety to which
the seed or spike corresponds as well as to maintain traceability throughout the production chain.
About the study:
DNA is obtained from different types of matrices such as leaves, spikes, seeds and grains
, followed by purification and quantification.
A panel of microsatellite markers (SSRs) specific to Triticum aestivum L. is used
which allows accurate determination of the variety to which the sample belongs.
Through this technique, variety mixtures can also be identified.
